LATEST | Canucks add depth on the back end and sign an NCAA Free Agent
The news is just in, the Abbotsford Canucks have just signed an NCAA free agent to an Amateur Try-Out.
''Everybody be (Minnesota) nice to the new guy 😃
The #AbbyCanucks have signed defenceman Andy Carroll to an Amateur Try Out Agreement (ATO)''
Carroll is a Minnesota State Univ. (Mankato) graduate. The left-handed shot defenseman managed 25 points in 39 games this year. He played with the highly touted defensive prospect, Jake Livingstone, and a defenseman who's expected to sign with the Canucks this week Akito Hirose.
Carroll turned 26 years old earlier in February and will get the opportunity to prove his worth in Abbotsford. It would be surprising to see him get a chance at the NHL level as he's most likely here to fill in for the most recent injuries to defensemen within the organization.
