LATEST | Canucks issue an official statement confirming great news for Elias Pettersson
Elias Pettersson's progression and play this season have been among the positive things of the season. The young centerman is leading the team in points while he's on the verge of crossing the 100-point barrier. Along with Quinn Hughes and Andrei Kuzmenko, they've been the heart and soul of this team.
The Canucks chose to recognize that when they awarded him the Cyclone Taylor Trophy as the team's MVP. The Canucks released the following statement late last night:
''Last, but definitely not least, is our 2022-23 Cyclone Taylor Trophy for «Most Valuable Player»... Elias Pettersson!''
Pettersson came out strong this year under Bruce Boudreau and even stronger since Rick Tocchet came in. The Swede managed an impressive 38 goals and 99 points in 77 outings. Pettersson will be the first Canuck to reach the 100-barrier in a single season since the Twins.
