It's no longer a secret, Elias Pettersson scored his 100th and 101st point of the season last night and it's all the media have been talking about.

Pettersson has been an absolute offensive weapon for the Canucks this season, but what's been even more mesmerizing is the defensive play he gave with it.

The Swede reached a career-high offensive production as he now counts 38 goals and 63 assists along with a +16 differential. While he sits 10th in league scoring, he's also a true defensive force and a heck of a penalty killer and the rest of the league is starting to see it the way we've seen him develop:

Craig Button was on Donnie and Dhali today and made an exciting statement regarding Elias Pettersson:

'He will be in my top 5 votes for the Selke Trophy. His game has grown, he is an all-round, strong, 2-way player. He is a superstar.'

He's not the first one to state that Pettersson is now a superstar, and while we have seen him as one of the league's top two-way players. It's the first time a renowned analyst has openly stated that he'd be in the top 5 voting for the Selke.

The Canucks hit the jackpot when they drafted him with the 5th overall pick in 2017. He's grown into a complete player and now people are truly seeing him for the dominating player that he is. Pettersson's name deserves to be in the Selke conversation, does he stand a chance of winning the award?
