LATEST | NHL makes an announcement on Thatcher Demko: Entering history
Thatcher Demko is currently building a strong case for the Vézina Trophy as this year's most doming goaltender.
The American registered his fifth shootout on the year when the Canucks collected a 2-0 win at home, against the BlackHawks. The NHL issued a statement that confirmed how dominant Demko had been since the season began. The goaltender registered an eight win in his last eight starts at the Rogers Arena and his now three wins away from Roberto Luongo who holds the record at 11:
Thatcher Demko of the @Canucks extended his overall winning streak to a career high-tying seven games and improved to 8-0-0 in his last eight home appearances dating to Dec. 9.
After a tough season for both the Canucks and Thatcher Demko, seeing bounce back just proves once more that the Canucks made the right choice when they kept him and let Jacob Markstrom go to the Flames.
