LATEST | Bad news for former Canucks defenceman: Out for a significant period of time
The Arizona Coyotes are set to be without the services of a former Vancouver Canucks defenceman for the next little while.
On Monday, the Coyotes announced via their public relations account on X that defenceman Troy Stecher is set to miss the next four-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury.
"INJURY UPDATE
Coyotes defenseman Troy Stecher will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury"
Stecher, 29, is currently in his second stint with the Arizona Coyotes after starting the 2022-23 season with them before being dealt to the Calgary Flames ahead of the deadline. In 42 games, Stecher has put up five points (one goal, four assists), 20 penalty minutes and is a plus-seven.
The Richmond, British Columbia native spent the first four seasons of his NHL career with the Vancouver Canucks, becoming a fan favourite on the blue line before leaving in free agency in 2020.
The good news for Stecher is that he'll definitely be healthy and fully recover in time for the Coyotes to visit Rogers Arena and battle the Canucks on April 10th.
