LATEST | The Flames' primary target in potential blockbuster with the Canucks revealed
It's already been made clear that the Canucks were expected to go heavily on the market with the hopes of improving their already dominant core. Aiming for a right-handed defenseman who can take big minutes and a top-six forward, the price tags don't come cheap.
TWO FLAMES PLAYERS HIGH ON THE CANUCKS LIST
It's been repeated on various occasions that the Flames' Elias Lindholm and Chris Tanev were very high on the Canucks list. Both high-end producers in their categories, they'd be superb additions to the Canucks.
Two insiders both made intriguing statements regarding the conversations linking the Canucks and the Flames. Both came to the same conclusion that the Flames would be asking for the young Swede Nils Hoglander if they intended on pulling another trade with their divisional rival.
Satiar Shah
''Calgary was very, very high on Hoglander.
Mentioned Flames were interested in Hoglander when Canucks spoke with Flames earlier in the season about Tanev.''

Rick Dhaliwal
''When I hear Tanev's name with Calgary, I always hear that Flames want Hoglander.''
Both are set to hit free agency at the end of the current season; they would give the Canucks a whole new depth perspective. Here's a preview of what the Canucks line-up could look like if they managed to make something out of this.
Miller - Pettersson - Boeser
Mikheyev - Lindholm - Kuzmenko
Joshua - Blueger - Garland
Aman - Suter - Lafferty
Hughes - Hronek
Zadorov - Soucy
Cole - Tanev
Whether or not to move Nils Hoglander will definitely cause Allvin some headaches as they get closer to the trade deadline. Hoglander is having a breakout season as he paces for over 20 goals at a $1.1M cap hit for this year and the next while averaging bottom six minutes.
