LATEST | NHL makes an official announcement concerning the Connor Bedard lottery
The NHL has officially set the date for what is set to be a historical day in Canucks' history.
As confirmed by Chris Johnston, the lottery date as been set to May 8th 2023. Up to this day, there is no doubt that Connor Bedard will be going number one. Though this year's draft is seen as one of the deepest talent pool we've seen since 2015.
The Canucks currently stand as the 8th seed in the league giving a 6% probability of winning. With less than 20 games on the calendar, it'll be interesting to see if they manage to increase their odds, especially since they've been performing great lately on an ongoing 5-game winning streak.
Although Connor Bedard is this year's top name, a good load of high-talent players are expected in the top 10 such as Adam Fantilli, Matvei Michkov, Leo Carlsson, and Zach Benson. The Canucks will have the opportunity to select an elite player even if they do not win the lottery.
