Elliotte Friedman brought uneventful news to light this morning when he revealed that Carson Soucy would be missing a significant amount of time. He believed that the Defenseman would be missing for three to four weeks.

TOCCHET UPDATES: WORSE THE EXPECTED?

The team's Head Coach Rick Tocchet addressed the rumours after the Canucks' morning skate that Soucy wouldn't be missing three to four weeks. He revealed that the team's number 7 would be out for five to six weeks:

Rick Tocchet tells us Carson Soucy will probably be out for 5-6 weeks

According to the reports from Rick Dhaliwal, Soucy would have broken knuckles, and it hadn't been determined whether or not he'd require surgery.

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PATRIK ALLVIN?

Allvin has already stated that he'd be looking to add a top-end forward to his group in hopes of going all the way. Allvin could move Carson Soucy to the Long-Term Injury Reserve and gain salary cap relief up to the total amount of his cap hit worth $3.25M.

Gaining extra cap space would give the Canucks' management extra room to acquire elite talent. Given the current timeline, Soucy would be out until the beginning, at the very least.
