MAJOR | Big development regarding J.T. Miller's status with the Canucks
J.T. Miller's name has been in trade rumours for months now and there was even a moment where the Canucks were trying to work out a potential deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
But now, it appears that J.T. Miller will remain a Vancouver Canuck for the foreseeable future.
According to Rick Dhaliwal and Thomas Drance, the Vancouver Canucks are no longer looking to trade J.T. Miller before his contract extension kicks in on Canada Day.
Miller, 30, signed a seven-year contract extension with the Canucks before training camp last season which will see him earn $8 million per year. His contract also includes a full no-movement clause and in years 5-7, has a modified no-trade clause with a 15 team no-trade list.
The East Palestine, Ohio native has had the most productive years of his NHL career while with the Canucks. During the 2021-22 season, Miller put up 99 points in 80 games and followed that up with 82 points in 81 games this past season.
