The Canucks have been all over the news this week for their choices of trade. They acquired Filip Hronek from the Detroit Red Wings earlier this week for two draft selections in 2023 top 40. Even though they've acquired a great player, for a correct price, it surely goes against the plan they are trying to sell.

One of the team's superstar, Quinn Hughes, was asked to comment on the trade and the Canucks status moving forward. Even though he's signed long-term with the club, he definitely gave a concerning answer:

"We don't want to be here for a rebuild, have to wait and do all thatI don't think we're crazy far out of competing and doing well."

The Canucks have announced a retool and the way they've dumped picks may be an indication of a never ending retooling. It'll be interesting to see how the Canucks manage to build around Pettersson, Hughes, Kuzmenko, now Hronek and Miller who seems to be bound to die as a Canuck.

Looking at the trades Allvin accomplished as of late, each one of them was great, but they aren't real indications of the direction they've announced they were taking.
