We're only two weeks away from the draft, and with the Canucks' current position, lots of talks are going to be heard involving their 11th overall pick.
Chris Faber, from Canucks Army, linked the Canucks and the Predators in possible pick swaps where the Canucks would drop down a few ranks to acquire a 2nd Rounder and an early 3rd Rounder; here's the suggested trade:
The Canucks would essentially be moving down 4 ranks to move up 7 in the 3rd Round, acquiring a 2nd Pick. While this deal could make sense on the surface, this isn't one the Canucks can't pull until draft day.
Without knowing the players that will be selected in the top 10, it would be too much of a gamble. The Preds, on their end, are known to give quite the show at the draft, especially this year since they host the festivities and own multiple picks.
The Canucks have identified their 5 top prospects, and it's hard to think they'd be going in the draft if one of them is still up for grabs. If they weren't able to pick a player they really like, however, they'd be getting an excellent return for their 1st Round Pick and would add one more prospect to their already slim pool.
