For some unknown reason, some Oilers' fan thought that if the Canucks wanted to fully commit to a rebuild they'd have to consider moving Elias Pettersson. If you're planning a rebuild, isn't a 24-year-old the kind of player you want to build around? Especially when he's a top-end player?
The Canucks would essentially be trading away a franchise-caliber player for two 1st Rounders, an overpaid 3rd goaltender, a B prospect, and an undersized 3rd liner.
First of all, why would the Canucks even consider moving Pettersson, and second of all, why would they move him for a return as absurd as this one? Elias Pettersson is developing into a top5 NHL centerman and a proposal like this one truly shows how undervalued he is in this league.
