Team Canada took on Denmark on Sunday in Prague for their second game of the preliminary round at the 2024 IIHF World Hockey Championship.
For the second consecutive game, North Vancouver native and 2023 first overall pick Connor Bedard led the way for Canada. Yesterday against Great Britain, Bedard recorded two goals as Canada won 4-2 and today, he was back at it.
In the first period, Connor Bedard fired home the shot from the blue line and past Danish goaltender Frederik Dichow to give Canada a 1-0 lead. Initially, the call on the ice was 'no goal' because the officials said there was goaltender interference. But after Canada used a coaches challenge, the call was overturned, giving Bedard his third goal of the tournament.

Bedard's second goal of the game against the Danes came early in the third period. He made a nice pass to Dylan Guenther, who took the puck around the net and passed it back in front to Bedard, who tapped it in to give Canada a 3-1 lead.

The 18-year-old added an assist on Pierre-Luc Dubois' goal with 21 seconds remaining in the third period as Canada would go on to defeat Denmark by a score of 5-1 and picking up their second win in as many days.
Canada will be back in action on Tuesday at 11:20 a.m. PT/2:20 p.m. ET on TSN as they take on Austria, who are led by Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi.
