Oliver Ekman Larsson earns himself a four year deal: He's on the move
Oliver Ekman-Larson found him self on free agency once more. After his contract was bought out by the Canucks a year, he went on to sign with the Panthers and win the Stanley Cup.
The Former Canuck defenceman has agreed to a four year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs worth $3.5 million per year. Elliotte Friedman reported the deal between OEL and Toronto.
The soon to be 33 year old is fresh off a Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers, reinvigorating his career in a smaller role after two tough seasons with the Canucks.
Ekman-Larsson was bought out before last season after failing to fill the role of top pair defenceman that he was expected to.
He played a huge role with the shorthanded Panthers to start the season, and settled in as an effective depth defenceman when Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour.
He is one of several Panthers who have found themselves with a new home less than day after celebrating their Stanley Cup parade in Fort Lauderdale, as Anthony Stolarz and Brandon Montour have also both signed elsewhere.
