The expression «tank for Bedard» has been making its way through the NHL. It means that teams are putting effort into losing in order to increase their lottery chances.

A special press conference was held by the league's commissioner earlier this evening in Montreal. During the conference, Bettman was asked whether or not some teams were trying to lose in order to get better odds for the 1st Overall Pick.

»Nobody tanks because we have weighted lottery nobody tanks»

Has he seen the Coyotes for the last 5 years? Perhaps nobody tanks because they all know the lottery is rigged?

At this point in the season when team's are in the low tier of the standings and are obviously out of the playoff race, shouldn't they take time to heal their injured players instead of rushing them back into play? (ie: Thatcher Demko, Cole Caufield, Zach Werenski, Sean Couturier)

Now I'm suggesting that the GMs are telling their teams to purposely lose, but maybe they're purposely not putting their best line-up wouldn't you agree?
ARE TEAMS PURPOSELY NOT PUTTING THEIR BEST LINE UP OUT THERE?
