LATEST | The latest developments on Corey Perry's termination released
The Chicago Blackhawks' Tuesday press conference did little to quiet speculation around Corey Perry's contract termination, and more details are trickling out.
Multiple sources have pointed towards an incident with a team employee as the "misconduct" that led to Perry's 1 year $4 million contract being terminated this week.
Sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan that Perry indeed traveled with the team to Columbus last Tuesday, a day before the game, and an incident occurred that day involving a team employee,
ESPN's article reads.
While that could mean any number of things, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli has further reported that "an alcohol fueled incident" involving Perry took place at an event that welcomed both corporate partners and team employees.
It's still unclear who witnessed the event, who was the target, who reported it and what exactly took place.
The NHLPA could still file a grievance over the contract termination if they, and Perry, decide to pursue that course of action.
