According to a recent development from the Athletic, Vancouver Canucks management, which includes General Manager Patrik Allvin and President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford have officially lost the fans bases confidence to make the best decisions for the team.

After missing the 2024-25 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Canucks management made some big promises heading into the the offseason, of which included re-signing key members of the core and finding necessary upgrades at center and on the blue line.
Although being able to lock up Brock Boeser and goalie Thatcher Demko to contract extensions, Patrik Allvin has ultimately failed in his pursuit of upgrading the teams roster.

Fans Have Officially Lost Faith in Vancouver Canucks management Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford

With that being said, the writers over at the Athletic ounce again put together their highly anticipated poll where they ask fans around the league to grade their team's front office.
This summer, they asked over 13,000 fans to grade their team, and 500 fans to grade every team.

After an extremely disappointing season filled with drama and distraction, not making the playoffs and not making any of the necessary moves to upgrade the lineup this offseason, fans have ranked the Canucks management, and have overwhelmingly lost confidence in their ability to do what is best.
Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford were graded at the bottom of the league in confidence, ranking 26 out of 32.
However, the Canucks front office seems to have lost the backing of their fan base after a lackluster season in which they fell six points out of a playoff spot. Vancouver fell from fifth to 26th in this year's rankings.

Here is a full breakdown of why the fans ranked Canucks management so low:
«After an extremely turbulent season, it's no shock the Canucks dropped further in these rankings than any other team, going from the top five to just outside the bottom five.

«The big error in many fans' eyes was how the franchise handled the Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller feud. It's not often that a spat like that becomes public to such a high degree midseason, and it created a sideshow that distracted an on-the-rise team toward missing the playoffs.

«The end result - trading Miller - is also a reminder that this management group effectively chose Miller over Bo Horvat two years earlier, only to see the team move both. While the Canucks ended up with one of the league's best back ends as a result, it was at the expense of the center depth, which now looks like a major weakness. The peculiar departure of Pius Suter, given the cost, only adds to that."

Now skating on thin ice (pun intended), both Allvin and Rutherford have one last kick at the can to show that they have the ability to make moves on the fly during the regular season in order to not suffer the same playoff fate seen in 2024-25.
If not, you can best believe that Canucks will have a new front office come the new year.
