The Vancouver Canucks' needs ahead of trade deadline have been known for a little while now and the organization is scouting other teams to see who they should target before March 8th.

On Tuesday, the Canucks had scouts at the Montreal Canadiens vs Ottawa Senators game at the Bell Centre and while on Donnie & Dhali, Rick Dhaliwal wondered if they were looking at, and liked, defenceman Arber Xhekaj.
"Dhaliwal talking about Canucks scouting the Habs and Sens game:

He wonders if Canucks like Arber Xhekaj." Taj1944 said in a post on X.

Xhekaj, 22, is unlikely to be traded by the Canadiens before the trade deadline, but if the Canucks make an offer to Montreal General Manager Kent Hughes that he can't refuse, anything is possible.
The Hamilton, Ontario plays a tough, physical style that would be perfect for the Canucks' third defensive pairing. This season, Xhekaj has appeared in 18 games for the Canadiens where he has three points (one goal, two assists), 49 penalty minutes and is a plus-two.
