The Canucks have started to reunite in Vancouver before the training camp's official kickoff. The team split into two groups, and the first group featured some of the team's newest additions and one big surprise.
Brendan Batchelor witnessed the team's two skates and noted that Carson Soucy, Matt Irwin and Tanner Pearson were on the ice. We were alerted that Pearson had been recently skating in full capacity, but it was his first time back on the ice without a different coloured jersey.
While it's great news for Tanner Pearson that he's finally back from his injury, a bigger problem arises from that for the Canucks. It's settled that Tucker Poolman and his $2.5M cap hit will be on the Long Term Injury reserve (LTIR) to kick things off, but with Pearson being healthy, they'll remain a little under $2.5M over the salary cap. Allvin may enlighten us in the next couple of weeks regarding that situation.
