Heavily criticized for his and the Oilers' mediocre start this season, Connor McDavid picked his game up lately and he's been on a record breaking streak since.

The NHL's top scorer last year, McDavid only managed a point per game since the season but has been lighting it up the four last games and even more during his last two outings collecting one goal and eight assists putting him alongside the league's and the franchise's greats:

With his fourth assist tonight, Connor McDavid (1-4�5) collected his ninth career five-point game and passed Evgeni Malkin (8) for the most among all active players.

The Oilers are now sitting 6 points away from a playoffs spot, if their hot streak continues, they could be back in the playoffs portrait by the Christmas break.
