There's been a void in the Canucks' captaincy ever since Bo Horvat was sent to Long Island. Over the summer, there's been lots of speculation regarding who may be taking over, and three apparent names have been circling in the conversations: J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes.
Through different analysts and journalists, the conversation came up today. It heated lots of arguments, but the consensus was that it couldn't be any clearer that Quinn Hughes would be this team's next captain.
Either way, Hughes has significantly grown within the organization over the last few years, and his eagerness to improve and evolve should be the standard for everybody else. Hughes was the author of 76 points in 78 outings last season and was frequently involved in the Norris Trophy discussions.
