With all the recent chatter about the Vancouver Canucks looking to get rid of one of their newest acquisitions, head coach Adam Foote has made it very clear on where he thinks Lukas Reichel is best utilized in the lineup.

Now one quarter of the way through the 2025-26 season, it is clear that the Vancouver Canucks are no where near where they want to be, with that in mind, general manager Patrik Allvin is desperately searching for ways to turn the year around.
With reports of the Canucks not having sufficient room for 23 year old Lukas Reichel in the lineup, it appears that he may be on his way out the door.

Now 13 games since coming over to the Canucks in hopes of a change of scenery being what is needed to turn Rachel's game around, with just 1 assist under his belt, the experiment has basically fizzled out and the Canucks have officially put the youngster on the trade block.
Until a deal can be struck, head coach Adam Foote was asked about the center's production thus far, and thinks that his role should change.
After being demoted from the second-line to the fourth over last weekend and healthy-scratched for Vancouver's Thursday night game against the Dallas Stars, Foote says that Reichel will be better suited in a smaller role on the wing instead of up the middle.
«I don't even know if I can answer that right now, to be honest with you,» he told the media after Saturday's practice. «I don't want to answer right now, but if you forced me to, I'd probably say wing right now. He's a good skater, and he's got good hands."

It is not certain if or when he will be traded, but as it stands right now, he has not proven himself a valuable asset when he is in the lineup.
