The Vancouver Canucks have reportedly lowered ticket prices amid their poor start to the 2025-26 season and backlash they received from some members of the fanbase.

After missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the spring for the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Vancouver Canucks made the decision to raise ticket prices, which as one would expect, frustrated the fanbase.
"Well I understand the frustration. I don't like to pay more for anything either, neither of us do. But, not being in the playoffs after having a price increase is hard for people to understand. I'm not responsible for the price of tickets, so I'll make that clear. It's not my lane." Jim Rutherford said back in April.

He added, "But the one thing I will say is part of that is not just about the hockey team with the cap going up, that is part of it, but another part of it is the building that we have. Investing money back into an older building that we're fortunate this is almost filled for every game. Our renewal rate on season tickets is very high. It's well into the 90 percent. So I can understand the frustration of people, but they do have to understand that the money is being invested back into the building and offset the cap."

Single game tickets officially went on-sale in August, with only five games having seats available for under $100 CAD and after their not-so-great start to the 2025-26 season, it appears that the club is reversing some of their price increases.

Vancouver Canucks reportedly lower ticket prices after poor start to season

In a recent article for Daily Hive, Rob Williams reported that the Vancouver Canucks organization has decided to lower some ticket prices for season ticket holders that want to purchase additional seats for upcoming games.
"We've received valuable feedback from our Season Ticket Members about the cost of purchasing additional tickets for games outside of their membership package throughout the season. We've listened carefully and are making some adjustments to closer align with the pricing of your membership seats,» the Canucks said in an email sent to season ticket holders.

They added, "Starting now, members will be able to purchase additional tickets for Canucks home games at their membership rate (plus processing fees). These updates are designed to give you more opportunities to share Canucks games with family, friends, and colleagues at a member-friendly price."

Ticket prices, albeit resale, have already started to drop off significantly, with some such as December 8th against the Detroit Red Wings available for $82 CAD after taxes and fees.
Because the Canucks aren't having a great season thus far, the demand for tickets just isn't there, forcing resellers to lower their prices significantly just to get rid of them.
