As the NHL season is just around the corner, all the pressure is now on the remaining Vancouver Canucks hopefuls and the team announces their roster/lineup for their highly anticipated matchup against the Calgary Flames.

With just two games left in the preseason and teams begin to finalize their rosters for the 2025-26 NHL season, the pressure is only getting greater as the remaining players trying to crack the lineup.
On Monday, Canucks Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin made the difficult but necessary decision to cut 17 NHL hopefuls from their roster, one of which was Kirill Kudryavtsev, who was the only one of the 17 players cut who had any shot of making the Canucks' opening-night roster.
Kudryavtsev didn't play poorly in the preseason. He made mistakes, but no more than might be expected from a 21-year-old rookie defenceman pushing to make the NHL. He showed flashes of his offensive potential, jumping up in the rush and making some clever passes, and showed some great poise in the defensive zone. - Daniel Wagner

Vancouver Canucks' projected lineup for preseason matchup against the Calgary Flames

With the Canucks not holding morning skate on Wednesday, it is not guaranteed what the lines will be against the Flames for their second to last game of the preseason, one can easily project what they will be, especially after the massive round of cuts made on Monday.

After the impressive camp from their 2025 1st-Round Draft pick Braeden Cootes, you would think they would allow him to continue to make his case to claim an NHL slot to start the year.
But, Judging from and photos and clips posted by the Vancouver Canucks Instagram, he did not make the trip to Calgary.
