The son of a former Vancouver Canucks forward has been suggested as a possible trade target for General Manager Patrik Allvin this summer as he looks for upgrades to the team's forward group.

After the Vancouver Canucks traded J.T. Miller traded J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, Patrik Allvin's group had a glaring hole at the second line center position, which was filled with several different players for the remainder of the season including Filip Chytil and Pius Suter.
This summer, the second line center position will need to be address, and it'll likely have to come by the way of a trade as the free agent market isn't exactly filled with many legitimate options for Patrik Allvin to consider.

Son of former Vancouver Canucks forward named as potential trade target

In a recent article on Canucks Army, Stephan Roget took a look at another potential option for the Vancouver Canucks' second line center hole and the last name might be very familiar with fans in British Columbia.
As Patrik Allvin looks for players that he could target over the summer, Roget suggests Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger, son of former Vancouver Canucks forward and long-time NHLer Mike Sillinger.
"A clean, fresh start in another organization - especially one with some room for Sillinger to grow in the top-six - might be in both he and the Blue Jackets' best interests. And Vancouver is certainly a team with some room at the centre position right now." Roget said.

Sillinger's production might not stand out to many people, with his career-high in points being 33 this past season, but he's only 22-years-old and has a lot of growth ahead of him, with just four years in the NHL under his belt.
The Columbus native is under contract for one more season with a cap hit of $2.25 million USD, according to CapWages and is set to become a restricted free agent next summer, but is eligible for an extension as of July 1st, but trying to acquire him from the Blue Jackets won't be cheap.
Roget suggests two different trade possibilities for the Vancouver Canucks if they were to seriously consider bringing in Cole Sillinger - one option involves Thatcher Demko, who is entering the final year of his contract in 2025-26, while the other involves the team's 2025 first-round pick (15th overall).
While Cole Sillinger would be a great option for the Vancouver Canucks, it seems more likely than not that Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford would opt for someone with a bit more experience for that 2C hole next season.
