An insider has given a big update regarding Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser ahead of the opening of the free agent market on Canada Day.

We're just three days away from the beginning of the National Hockey League's free agency period and it could be a busy time for the Vancouver Canucks, likely from a depth perspective as bringing in a top-six forward on the open market will be tough.
The Vancouver Canucks also have a pair of notable names that are eligible to hit the free agent market on Tuesday morning including Brock Boeser, whose time in British Columbia might be over.

Insider gives big update on Brock Boeser ahead of opening of free agency

Since the regular season concluded for Vancouver back in April, it's felt like Brock Boeser wouldn't be returning to the Canucks and would be looking for a new opportunity elsewhere and it looks like the team got confirmation of that this week.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Vancouver Canucks made a recent attempt at signing Brock Boeser to a contract extension, however that didn't work and the Burnsville, Minnesota native will officially become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
"#Canucks recently made another run at bringing back pending UFA forward Brock Boeser.

Boeser will be going to market on July 1." Seravalli said.
Boeser and the Vancouver Canucks had contract talks early in the 2024-25 season, with the American forward reportedly being offered a five-year contract with an $8 million cap hit, but he turned it down as he is seeking a longer term.
Leading up to the trade deadline, the Vancouver Canucks had talks with other teams regarding Brock Boeser and as 12 pm PT rolled around, he remained with the club as Patrik Allvin said he never received any offers he liked and opted to hold onto the former first round pick for a playoff push.
Ultimately, the Vancouver Canucks missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Brock Boeser finishes his time with the organization with 434 points (204 goals, 230 assists), along with 142 penalty minutes in 554 career games.
Boeser will certainly garner a ton of interest on the open market next week including his hometown Minnesota Wild, who could end up being the favourite for his services.
