A former Vancouver Canucks Assistant Coach has found himself a new job in the National Hockey League a few months before training camp for the 2025-26 season.

The Vancouver Canucks were among many teams in the last month or so to make changes behind the bench, with Rick Tocchet departing the organization at the end of April.
Since then, the Canucks promoted Adam Foote to the role of Head Coach, reportedly added Kevin Dean as an Assistant Coach, while Rick Tocchet joined the Philadelphia Flyers as their new bench boss.

With Rick Tocchet moving on to Philadelphia and Adam Foote taking over the Head Coaching Reigns, many have been wondering what the future held for the Vancouver Canucks' other Assistant Coach - Yogi Svejkovsky.
The 2024-25 season was Svejkovsky's first behind the bench in the National Hockey League, with his role focusing on the forwards and the power play, but it looks like his time in Vancouver is now over.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Yogi Svejkovsky will be heading to the Philadelphia Flyers to be an Assistant Coach on Rick Tocchet's staff next season
"Sounds like Yogi Svejkovsky, who was an Assistant Coach in Vancouver, will be joining Rick Tocchet in Philly as part of his coaching staff with the Flyers." Pagnotta said.
Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali confirmed that report a short while ago, saying that the Vancouver Canucks didn't want to lose Svejkovsky, but he had an option in his contract to leave if another opportunity popped up.
"Assistant coach Yogi Svejkovsky is leaving the #Canucks for Philadelphia to join Rick Tocchet.

Canucks did not want to lose him but he has a great relationship with Tocchet.

Believe Svejkovsky had an option in his contract to leave." Dhaliwal said.
Svejkovsky, 48, initially joined the Vancouver Canucks organization ahead of the 2021-22 season to become a skills coach for their American Hockey League affiliate in Abbotsford.
Following two seasons with Abbotsford, the Plzen, Czechia native was brought up to Vancouver in the same role he had in the AHL and after one season, Rick Tocchet named him an Assistant Coach on his staff, replacing Mike Yeo, who was hired by the Ottawa Senators.
Now that Svejkovsky has left the Vancouver Canucks organization, Adam Foote and Patrik Allvin can begin their search for another Assistant Coach to join the team's staff for the 2025-26 campaign, someone who will focus on the team's offense.
