The Vancouver Canucks have reportedly hired a new Assistant Coach to join the staff of newly-appointed Head Coach Adam Foote ahead of the 2025-26 NHL season.
It was a busy month of May for the Vancouver Canucks as Patrik Allvin began a search for the team's 22nd Head Coach in franchise history following
the departure of Rick Tocchet on April 29th.
Allvin's coaching search concluded with the team
promoting Adam Foote to the role of Head Coach after spending parts of the last three seasons as an assistant on Rick Tocchet's staff.

During his introductory press conference in mid-May, Adam Foote, along with Patrik Allvin, told reporters that they would like to bring in two new Assistant Coaches to join his staff and in the weeks since
a number of potential candidates have been mentioned.
During Thursday's edition of
Donnie & Dhali, insider Rick Dhaliwal shared
shared a name to keep an eye on over the next little while as the search for new Assistant Coaches continues and that happened to be former NHL defenseman Kevin Dean, who is coming off a gold medal with the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
"Keep an eye on a guy named Kevin Dean as a possible fit in Vancouver as an Assistant Coach on Adam Foote's staff. Dean was let go by the Chicago Blackhawks a couple of weeks ago. High-end defensive coach. Has been an assistant in Chicago and Boston the last seven years.
Derek Forbort had him in Boston a few years ago. He was just an assistant on that US team that won the Worlds for the first time in 92 years." Dhaliwal said.
On Tuesday, Thomas Drance of The Athletic is reporting that he's hearing Kevin Dean will be joining the Vancouver Canucks and that an official announcement will be coming once Adam Foote and the club finalize the entire coaching staff.
"Hearing #Canucks will be hiring former Blackhawks, Bruins assistant coach Kevin Dean, whose name @DhaliwalSports surfaced last week, to join Adam Foote's staff.
Foote and the club are still finalizing the rest of the staff. Expect Dean hire to be announced when that's complete." Drance said on X.
Dean, 56, spent parts of seven seasons as a player in the National Hockey League with New Jersey, Atlanta, Dallas and Chicago before retiring in 2002 and a few years later, turning his attention to coaching.
During his coaching career thus far, the Madison, Wisconsin native has spent time as an assistant in the NHL with the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks over the last eight seasons and will now get his first opportunity to be behind the bench in a Canadian market.
