Vancouver Canucks president Jim Rutherford takes subtle jab at Rick Tocchet?

Today, Jim Rutherford and General Manager officially introduced Adam Foote as the new head coach of the Vancouver Canucks in an exclusive press conference.
The intent was to go over all the offseason plans the team is looking to get done in order to not repeat the outcome of the 2024-2025 season, but also give Foote the opportunity to detail his mentality as a first-time NHL bench boss.
"I like being around the guys. When you get an opportunity to play in the NHL for a long time and play with great players, get a chance to win, and then it's over. You just can't do it anymore. Your body won't do it, and you've got to hang them up. There's an empty feeling for a long time." Foosaid.

He added, "You try to get back in the game at different levels. And you know, you go part-time, and part-time is not always right, because you're not all-in going to war with the guys, and it just doesn't feel right. Since I took this job and Rick gave me that opportunity, the organization gave me that opportunity, I felt alive again. I mean, there are times you just want to jump over the boards and play when you sit on the bench, but you can't."

During the scuffle, Rutherford detailed the teams issues producing on offense, basically sending a little jab to Tocchet as it was always the biggest criticism from fans and members of the media.
Canucks Rutherford on 650: "First of all, I believe we could have had more offense last year if we just shot the puck in a number of games where we actually had a scoring chance. So, and for some reason, the players wanted to pass the
puck when the scoring chance was there."
Whether or not he intended it to come off the way it did, it came off as if he was trying to send a message to the former coach for how he handled his players.
But the good news, their is a news voice in the room time will tell if it was the right choice.
