Canucks prospect receives huge honour: Cementing his steal status
The Canucks have made a few brilliant draft selections over the two or three last drafts and we're now starting to see the results.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Elias (D-Pettey) Pettersson, Tom Willander, havé all exceeded expectations. One prospect whose progression has gone under the radar, Kirill Kudryavtsev. The young Russian who plays for the Soo GreyHounds was the Canucks' 7th Round Selection in the 2022 draft and he's slowly developping into a top prospect for the team.
The OHL had a coaches poll trying to determine who the best players in their league were and for a second year running, the Canucks prospect was nominated. This year, Kudryavtsev finish the year as the OHL most underrated player:
Most Underrated Player:
1. Kirill Kudryavtsev (VAN) - Western Conference
He was 208th selection in 2022, and he'll be eligible to make his professional debut next year in the AHL. If he keeps on progressing the way he has, the Canucks have pulled a steal out of a very unlikely draft pick.
