An NHL insider says that a former Vancouver Canucks forward has been made available on the trade market this summer as teams around the league look for help in their top-six.

Vancouver's Pacific Northwest rivals, the Seattle Kraken, have made some big moves this summer as they look to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2026.
Among the moves made by the club include acquiring forward Mason Marchment in a trade with the Dallas Stars and signing defenseman Ryan Lindgren, but it doesn't look like Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill is done as a former Vancouver Canucks forward could be on the trade block.

Former Vancouver Canucks forward reportedly made available for trade by Seattle

During an appearance on Sekeres and Price this week, NHL insider David Pagnotta revealed that the Seattle Kraken have made forward Jared McCann available for trade this summer.
Pagnotta shared that the team is open to moving on from the 29-year-old, who has been with the club since the 2021 Expansion Draft and that his name has been out there in rumors dating back to the trade deadline in early March.
"Jared McCann is another name to kind of look at in Seattle. He's out there as well. His name started to pop up around the trade deadline and he's still available.

He's got I think two years, maybe three, he's got at least two years left on his contract, but he's somebody that we've been hearing that Seattle is also open to moving." Pagnotta said.
McCann was a former first round pick of the Vancouver Canucks back in 2014, but his time with the club didn't last too long as after his rookie season in the National Hockey League, he was traded to the Florida Panthers in a deal that saw Jim Benning land defenseman Erik Gudbranson.
After leaving Vancouver, McCann has made stops with the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins and now, the Seattle Kraken, the latter of whom he's enjoyed plenty of success with including three consecutive seasons of 60+ points.
Back in June, David Pagnotta linked Jared McCann to the Vancouver Canucks, along with the Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers, but with Patrik Allvin re-signing Brock Boeser on July 1st and acquiring Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers, it doesn't appear that there would be a fit now for the Stratford, Ontario native.
