It is not often that you have controversial media personality Don Cherry give his always electric opinion on a matter regarding the NHL now that Coaches corner is gone, but he definitely wanted to make sure his take regarding the firing of John Tortorella was heard.
When John Tortorella was fired by the Philadelphia Flyers this week it did not come to the shock of many fans as the Flyers have not made a postseason appearance in his short tenure as their leader.

But the matter in which why he was relived of his duties did in fact cause some major waves around the NHL.
Don Cherry comments on John Tortorella getting fired by the Philadelphia Flyers
It has been rumored and even somewhat "confirmed" by Spittin Chiclets Host and ex-NHLer Ryan Whitney suggested that his firing was due to a heated altercation with young defenseman Cam York.
But, Obviously how Grapes is, during one of his podcast episodes, Don Cherry shared his opinion on the whole debacle.
"Yeah. And he had an argument with Cam York. I guess that was the final straw. Losing takes a toll. I remember sitting outside a branch, and I said to the branch, 'These guys are trying just as hard.' It had nothing to do with effort. I mean, they were just getting beaten down."

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for orts as speculation has even linked him to returning to the Vancouver Canucks as their next head coach if Rick Tocchet does not return.
Love him or hate, Tortorella is a legend in the NHL and we hope to see him back behind the bench soon.
