Pat Brisson, the agent for Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, has opened up on the potential that his client could get traded at some point during the offseason.

When the Vancouver Canucks' management held their season-ending media availability last Monday, one of the biggest topics of discussion was the poor year Elias Pettersson had and his future with the organization.
General Manager Patrik Allvin was asked if a trade was an option heading into the summer, he didn't say no, adding that he would be stupid not to keep his options open.

During an interview with Rick Dhaliwal and Don Taylor on Donnie & Dhali, Elias Pettersson's agent, Pat Brisson, responded what Patrik Allvin said regarding a potential trade involving his client.
Brisson said that he wasn't too surprised with what Patrik Allvin said given that it's a business, but that Pettersson plans to have a strong offseason training for next season, which he hopes will be a bounce back year.
"Not really surprised, it's a business but Elias is planning a big off-season, he is super determined to have a great season next year." Pat Brisson said on Donnie & Dhali.
It was a pretty tough year for Elias Pettersson and it all started before the 2024-25 campaign even began as he was limited in what he could do training-wise due to a knee injury he sustained in January 2024.
Pettersson then got off to a pretty poor start to the season in October before turning it up in November and December and slowing down once again in January and February.
Combine his inconsistent play with a reported rift with J.T. Miller, which led to him being placed on the trade block and you have a recipe for disaster.
When the calendar flipped to March, Elias Pettersson started to turn things around once again, registering ten points in 11 games but unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury during a game against the New York Rangers.
While most fans are hoping that Elias Pettersson has a strong offseason and comes back to Vancouver as the 100+ point player he has the potential to be, it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if Patrik Allvin does end up trading him, depending on the package and offer he receives.
At this point in time, it seems more likely than not that Elias Pettersson will be with the Vancouver Canucks when training camp opens in the middle of September.
