Former Vancouver Canucks part-time coach Trent Cull has earned a major promotion with the Canucks Western Conference rival after spending the last two seasons in the American Hockey League.
Now, more news has come out about a former coach earning a new big role with a new team since leaving Vancover.
Former Vancouver Canucks Assistant coach earns major promotion with the Calgary Flames
After serving as an assistant coach for the Canucks for a short period during the 2022-2023 season, he landed the head coaching role for the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL.
After making it to the playoffs and leading a solid minor league squad, Trent Cull got the call all coaches want to hear as he earned a major promotion, becoming the Flames' full-time assistant coach to Ryan Huska.
General Manager Craig Conroy spoke about what Cull brings to the Flames and why his past experience will be a major asset moving forward.
«Facing a challenging situation last season, Trent stepped in and was very impressive managing his assignments with our NHL club,» said Flames GM Craig Conroy said of Cull. The Flames will now begin their hunt to find a new permanent head coach of the AHL Wranglers in the wake of Cull's promotion.
