The Florida Panthers are headed to the Stanley Cup Final for a second year in a row; as if it wasn't enough, they'll be going there with two former Canucks playing prominent roles on their team.

The Panthers picked up Oliver Ekman-Larsson immediately after he was bought out by the Canucks; the veteran came back to his former self and played a vital part in the Cats' run toward the Stanley Cup finals. OEL isn't; however, the only player who's played a crucial part in their success, and the former Canuck Ed Jovanovksi reminded every Canucks fan today.
The former Canuck captain was on Donnie and Dhali earlier and addressed the blossoming of Gustav Forsling in Florida. Forsling was waived by the Canucks and eventually landed in Florida, where he most recently inked an eight-year deal. Since then, he's been worth every penny of it; the Panthers' Head Coach, Paul Maurice, even qualified him as Norris Trophy-worthy. Jovanovksi took the opportunity to take a shot at the Canucks and Jim Benning for letting such a promising young talent go for free.
Jovo: Who was the GM at that point?..

Guys: That was Jim Benning..

Jovo: Alright, good move Jimmy.. 😂

Former #Canucks  Defenseman & Panthers Analyst Ed Jovanovski talked about Gustav Forsling's play and took a shot at Jim Benning in the process.

While it may not have been Jim Benning's finest roster move, he did manage to trade for J.T. Miller and draft Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes. He is responsible for the team's core, but he may have failed to develop the team's lower picks, such as Gustav Forsling, who was the Canucks' 5th Round Selection in 2014.
