Former Vancouver Canucks Forward Reportedly Tempted by Major Offers to Leave the NHL and Sign Overseas

A former Vancouver Canucks forward, who didn't last too long with the club, had reportedly received offers from teams in Europe that trying to get him for the 2025-26 season.
Tomorrow will officially be the two-week mark since the opening of the National Hockey League's free agent window and it's been a busy offseason for the Vancouver Canucks so far, including a number of their former players.
Within the last couple of weeks, we've seen a few former Vancouver Canucks decide to head overseas to Europe for the next chapter of their professional hockey career, including goaltender Collin Delia, who inked a one-year deal with Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League and defenseman Madison Bowey, who also landed a one-year contract, but will be suiting up for Augsburger Panther in the DEL, Germany's top division.
Over the weekend, a new report came out from a Russian media outlet regarding another Vancouver Canucks who may be heading overseas for the 2025-26 season and it's someone that was on the team's opening night roster back in October.
Former Vancouver Canucks forward reportedly considering offers in KHL
In an article on Sport-Express, reporter Mikhail Zislis revealed that former Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sprong has received two contract offers in the KHL, one from CSKA Moscow and another from Avangard Omsk.

Last season he played for three NHL clubs - Vancouver, Seattle and New Jersey, and also spent time in the AHL, playing for Coachella.

Sprong, 28, joined the Vancouver Canucks as an unrestricted free agent in the middle of July last year, signing a one-year deal worth $975,000 US with the club.
The Amsterdam, Netherlands native's time with the Vancouver Canucks was quite brief, appearing in just nine games with them where he registered three points (one goal, two assists), before he was traded to the team's Pacific Northwest rival, the Seattle Kraken, for future considerations.
Sprong went on to appear in ten games for the Kraken, along with 19 for their American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, registering 25 points with the latter, before he was dealt once again, this time to the New Jersey Devils on trade deadline day in March.
It's going to be interesting to see what Daniel Sprong decides to do in the coming weeks, with KHL training camps and preseason games set to begin in early August.
