A former Vancouver Canucks forward prospect and 2025 Calder Cup champion with the Abbotsford Canucks has left North America and signed overseas in Europe.

The 2025-26 season is officially underway overseas, with a number of the top European leagues dropping the puck over the last week or two, with numerous former Vancouver Canucks involved, including defenseman Brad Hunt, who signed in Finland over the weekend.
On Wednesday morning, just three months after helping the Abbotsford Canucks win their first-ever Calder Cup in team history, a former Vancouver Canucks prospect decided he wanted a new challenge and is heading to Europe for the first time in his professional hockey career.

In a press release on their team website, Lowen Frankfurt, who play in Germany's top division - Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) - announced that they have signed former Vancouver Canucks prospect Ty Glover for the 2025-26 season.
Lowen Frankfurt are expecting Glover to arrive in Frankfurt today and are hoping that he will be able to appear in tomorrow's game against Dresdner Eislowen.

"The Frankfurt Lions have signed 24-year-old striker Ty Glover. The Canadian, a standout at 191 cm and weighing 91 kilograms, arrives in Frankfurt. This move is the Lions' response to the loss of Jakob Lilja, who remains sidelined due to an infection.

Ty will arrive in Frankfurt today and will wear the number 7 shirt in the future. The Lions are working to ensure that the new striker will be in action in Thursday's match against Dresden." Lowen Frankfurt said.

The team's Sports Manager, Jan Barta, commented on the signing today, saying that they really like the size, speed and physicality that Ty Glover will bring to their lineup.
"A true power forward. With his size, speed, and physical style, he brings not only quality but also depth to our squad." Barta said.

Glover, a native of Salford, England, was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in October 2023 from the Pittsburgh Penguins and has spent the majority of his time in the organization with the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks, aside from a 15-game stint with ECHL Kalamazoo during the 2023-24 campaign.
In 37 games for the Abbotsford Canucks this season, Glover put up ten points (four goals, six assists), 16 penalty minutes and was a plus-six.
