HNIC Analyst Luke Gazdic goes on a rant against the Canucks and their fans
Former NHLer and current HNIC analyst Luke Gazdic has not been shy about his love for his former team, the Edmonton Oilers, during their run to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The former tough guy has been back and forth with Canucks fans on Twitter since the two teams met in Round 2, but after the Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals this weekend, the analyst took yet another shot at Canucks fans while on an Oilers' podcast.
However, on Monday, with the Oilersnation Everyday podcast, he may have gone too far.
My account still will not stop with Canucks trolls... it's the most garbage, gibberish trash I've ever seen. Canucks Twitter, you're an absolute joke, your team is a joke, you're a bunch of losers.
While Gazdic says Canucks fans have been berating him non-stop since the series with the Oilers, it's pretty shocking to hear a national analyst so openly attack a team and its fan base.
Some fans have called for an apology from the analyst, while others say he should lose his spot on the panel altogether. Canucks fans' main criticism of Gazdic has been his bias towards the Oilers, and he certainly didn't prove them wrong with his rant.
Gazdic, now 34, is a retired professional hockey player who played 147 NHL games, registering 8 points and 206 penalty minutes. 136 of those games were with the Edmonton Oilers.
