The Vancouver Canucks have quite a few unrestricted free agents this summer, and with less than five weeks until the market opens, Patrik Allvin has some big decisions to make.
During Wednesday's edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed that there is natural optimism out there that the Vancouver Canucks will be able to get a contract signed with defenceman Tyler Myers.
Myers, 34, has been with the Vancouver Canucks for the last five seasons. While fans have mixed feelings about whether the team should re-sign him, he is a good veteran for the locker room and playing limited minutes in a third-pairing role would be the ideal scenario.
Statistically, Myers had the best season of the five years that he's been with the Vancouver Canucks. In 77 games, the Houston native had 29 points (five goals, 24 assists), 77 penalty minutes and was a plus-16. He went on to add one assist in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
