J.T. Miller mocks rookie Arturs Silovs during practice
The Vancouver Canucks took to the ice today in preparation for Game 6 against the Nashville Predators on Friday. They currently hold a 3-2 series lead after failing to close it out at home in Game 5. During their practice, forward J.T. Miller was noticeably sporting different attire than the rest of the team and it appears to be in fun mockery of rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs, who started the past two games for the team.
Miller was seen wearing a peach/salmon-coloured dress shirt as opposed to the team's regular practice jerseys, which apparently belonged to Silovs. The rookie was surprised to see Miller sporting his game day attire.
A good veteran, pulling a prank on a rookie to ease the mood as the Canucks head into this year's most important game.
Miller led all Canucks skaters in points this season with 103, topping the century mark for the first time in his career. He currently has a goal and six points through five playoff games, while Silovs has won one game and lost the other, allowing five total goals.
It is undetermined whether Silovs or Casey DeSmith will start in Game 6 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Silovs started in Games 4 and 5 after DeSmith was injured, who himself had replaced the injured Thatcher Demko. Vancouver has won all three of their games with different starting goalies.
The Canucks will look to advance to the second round and potentially become the second Canadian team to do after the Edmonton Oilers advanced last night.
