Martin Necas: Seven teams still in the running, Hurricanes nearing the end line
In recent updates, discussions have surged about the possible trade avenues for Martin Necas in the upcoming offseason.
Pierre LeBrun, an insider, has hinted at Carolina's targeted selection of teams for Necas' potential trade, highlighting four specific ones. Furthermore, another insider, Darren Dreger, has hinted at ongoing talks involving Nikolaj Ehlers, possibly entailing the Carolina Hurricanes and Martin Necas in the bargaining.
As these situations progress, all eyes are poised on Carolina and the quartet of teams mentioned by LeBrunBoston, Chicago, Montreal, and Winnipegto unveil where Necas might eventually find himself.
Pierre LeBrun on Necas: 5 to 7 teams are intriguing possibilities for Martin Necas. Winnipeg, Chicago, Boston, and Montreal are among those teams.
The Canucks had reportedly been intrigued by his potential price of acquisition, but there's been no development linking the young Czech to Vancouver since then. Allvin wants to add speed and offence during the summer, and Necas fills both those needs. Necas is looking for a more prominent role and the opportunity to be a leader, definitely something the Canucks can offer.
The question remains, however, will the Canucks have enough to offer the Hurricanes? Will they have the pieces or the pieces to make this deal happen? At this point, I'd be surprise if a Necas trade to the Canucks didn't involve Filip Hronek, perhaps the Canucks are waiting to see how that unfolds before pulling the trigger?
