Two NHL insiders gave an update on the future of defenseman Noah Juulsen with the Vancouver Canucks as he's set to become a free agent in just four days.

The 2024-25 season was a tough one for Vancouver Canucks defenseman Noah Juulsen as while he managed to suit up for 35 games, he suffered season-ending injury which required surgery in February.
Even with how much depth the Vancouver Canucks have on the blue line, Noah Juulsen expressed his desire to remain with the organization next season when speaking with reporters in April and on Friday, we got an update on his future with the club.

Insiders give update on Noah Juulsen's future with the Vancouver Canucks

In a recent article on The Athletic, Thomas Drance and Rick Dhaliwal gave an update on the future of Noah Juulsen with the Vancouver Canucks organization.
According to the two insiders, Noah Juulsen is looking for a one-way contract, which would guarantee him the same salary whether he's playing in the National Hockey League or the American Hockey League.
Drance and Dhaliwal added that the Vancouver Canucks haven't closed the door on potentially re-signing Noah Juulsen, however they believe it's more likely that he'll be heading to the open market and a new team on July 1st.
"Finally, defender Noah Juulsen is still looking for a one-way contract. The door isn't closed on Juulsen returning to Vancouver, but it's trending toward him signing elsewhere." Drance and Dhaliwal said.

Juulsen, a native of Surrey, British Columbia, joined the Vancouver Canucks through a trade with the Florida Panthers in October 2021, just before the season began.
The 28-year-old blueliner went on to appear in 109 games for the Canucks across parts of four seasons, tallying nine points (one goal, eight assists), 49 penalty minutes and was a minus-16.
According to AFP Analytics, Noah Juulsen is projected to land a one-year contract at the league minimum salary of $775,000 US and there's no question that if he makes it to the open market on Canada Day, there will be a ton of interest in him in a third pairing/seventh defenseman role in the NHL or a top-four role in the minors.
