A pair of Vancouver Canucks forwards may find themselves leaving the organization this summer as a result of the team needing to clear cap space to make an addition or two.

The offseason is just getting underway and the Vancouver Canucks are hoping to be one of the more aggressive teams in the National Hockey League this summer.
Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford got the ball rolling earlier this week by acquiring Evander Kane and with the team's salary cap sitting at just over $7 million US, according to PuckPedia, which could lead the club to parting ways with a player or two from their roster to open up some money for them to make more additions.

Pair of Vancouver Canucks forwards could be dealt to cap reasons this summer

With the Vancouver Canucks' salary cap for the 2025-26 season a little over $7 million US and the team having upwards of ten RFAs to re-sign, if they intend on keeping them all, it certainly won't leave Patrik Allvin with much money to work with as they continue their search for a second line centerman.
On Friday, Thomas Drance and Rick Dhaliwal reported that forward Teddy Blueger and Dakota Joshua could be available for trade if the team wants to clear some cap space to make a big addition.
"In addition to Silovs, we continue to hear that forwards Dakota Joshua and Teddy Blueger could be available on the trade market if the Canucks need to open up cap space to execute something larger. Joshua has a 12-team no-trade list. He's also dealt with a lingering hip injury, originally sustained in the latter half of this season." Drance and Dhaliwal said.

Blueger, a native of Riga, Latvia, is set to enter the final year of his contract with the Vancouver Canucks and has a cap hit of $1.8 million, along with a 12-team no-trade list.
Meanwhile, Dakota Joshua, who also has a 12-team no-trade list, has three years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $3.25 million US.
Opening up an additional $5.05 million to work with, if the Canucks were to trade both Teddy Blueger and Dakota Joshua, would be massive for Patrik Allvin and his pursuit of landing another top-six forward, someone who could help Vancouver's chances at reaching the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
