Patrik Allvin clearly identifies what he's going after in free agency
Patrik Allvin knows that his current roster build didn't have what it takes to play every team on their way. Their system makes them a formidable opponent, but their lack of offensive creativity eventually had the best of them.
At the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, Patrik Allvin was in every conversation, even after he acquired Elias Lindholm. Whether it was Tyler Toffoli or even Jake Guentzel, the Canucks' GM was on the lookout for top-six wingers to play alongside Elias Pettersson. The Canucks couldn't see that through, and it led us to where we are today.
During his exit interview, Allvin precisely identified what he meant to address heading into the off-season. As he'd been trying at the deadline, he'll be looking to acquire another top-six talent to join Elias Lindholm (Hopefully), J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser. They'll also be on the lookout for speedy forwards:
