A new report out this week suggests that the Vancouver Canucks & General Manager Patrik Allvin had a trade offer rejected for pending UFA forward Kiefer Sherwood.

We're officially three months away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2025-26 season and it's expected to be a busy one for the Vancouver Canucks after Patrik Allvin made the decision to make all of his pending unrestricted free agents, as well as some veteran players, available.
"According to several sources, the Vancouver Canucks have let it be known that - in an effort to get younger - they are willing to listen to offers on 'veteran players.'" Elliotte Friedman said at the end of November.

Given that he's the team's leading goal scorer and one of their top forwards since the start of the 2024-25 campaign, Kiefer Sherwood is expected to garner the most interest of anyone on Vancouver's roster that's currently available, with numerous teams already reaching out to Patrik Allvin to see what it would cost to acquire him.

Vancouver Canucks reportedly reject trade offer for Kiefer Sherwood

On Friday's edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman hinted that the Vancouver Canucks had a trade offer rejected recently by the Philadelphia Flyers.
According to Friedman, Patrik Allvin asked the Vancouver Canucks asked the Flyers about forward Owen Tippett, but were told no by Philadelphia General Manager Danny Briere, who isn't interested in moving the former top-ten pick at this time.
"They ask high. The news got out that they asked about Tippett... I do think the Canucks asked about him, (but) I don't think that's going to be happening." Friedman said.

The Flyers are one of several teams that would love the chance to get their hands on Kiefer Sherwood before 12 p.m. PT on Friday, March 6th and there's a bit of a connection between the two clubs too with Rick Tocchet, Vancouver's former Head Coach, serving as the bench boss for the Columbus native's first season as a Canuck.
It's not going to be easy for the Flyers to get a deal done with Vancouver for Kiefer Sherwood though as if they're unwilling to part with someone like Owen Tippett, it's probably unlikely that they'll pay the Canucks' reported asking price of a first round pick for the 30-year-old winger.
"I am hearing it's a first round pick plus for Kiefer Sherwood." David Pagnotta said recently.

A lot can change between now and early March, so we'll have to wait and see if the Philadelphia Flyers truly want to bring in Kiefer Sherwood, or if they'll look elsewhere for a cheaper option on the trade market.
