An update has been issued on the potential availability of Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek before his no-movement clause kicks in on July 1st.

As the Vancouver Canucks to continue to evaluate ways to improve their roster, it could come down to an addition by subtraction situation for General Manager Patrik Allvin.
If the Vancouver Canucks are to acquire a second line centerman via trade this summer, they may have to part with a big piece of their roster, possibly even Filip Hronek, who is coming off his second season with the organization.

Update issued on potential availability of Filip Hronek

Last week, a report came out from the GOAT RADIO - Podcast that stated the Vancouver Canucks have made defenseman Filip Hronek available for trade.
The reasons cited being the growth in Victor Mancini's game since being acquired by the Vancouver Canucks back in January and the arrival of Tom Willander, who signed his three-year, entry-level contract less than two weeks ago.
Matthew Zator of The Hockey Writers says that a top-six centerman will be quite expensive for Patrik Allvin to bring in and without wanting to move either of their top prospects - Jonathan Lekkerimaki or Tom Willander, they may have to part with another big piece, that being Filip Hronek.
Zator went on to say that there is plenty of risk with potentially trading Filip Hronek this summer, none bigger than the chemistry he has formed with captain Quinn Hughes over the last two seasons.
"With the Canucks' surplus being on defence, Hronek could be the most tradable piece before his NMC kicks in. There's some inherent risk involved with trading him, though, as he's formed undeniable chemistry with Quinn Hughes and eats up a lot of minutes on the backend." Parsons said.

Hronek, 27, has seven years remaining on his contract with the Vancouver Canucks, which comes with a cap hit of $7.25 million, along with a full no-movement clause, which kicked in on Canada Day this year.
If the Vancouver Canucks are going to trade Filip Hronek for a top-six centerman, they're likely to do so before that no-movement clause goes into effect as after July 1st, the Hradec Kralove, Czechia native would have full control on where he goes and if he wants to leave the club.
