With the Vancouver Canucks in a hard search for more talent to add to their forward group, a new report has indicated that a former Dallas Stars forward Mikael Granlund rejected the Patrik Allvin's major offer.
The Vancouver Canucks are currently fighting an uphill battle when it comes to enticing top free-agents to sign here, especially after head coach Rick Tocchet left after just two years and the ongoing drama that plagued the 2024-25 season.
Although re-signing Brock Boeser and acquiring Evander Kane were not moves to lift your nose at, Patrik Allvin still needs to find some more reinforcements upfront, but it is proving to be a harder task than originally expected.
Mikael Granlund refuses Vancouver Canucks' massive offer to take less money and sign with the Anaheim Ducks
Although a big contract, it was reported that Granlund received an even bigger offer from the Canucks first, offering $3 million more than the Ducks and still rejected their bid to not play in Vancouver.
"The number-one target for centermen was Mikael Granlund, but the price was too high. The agent had said it's gonna cost seven and the Canucks couldn't do seven. I think they might have gone to six, but in my heart, I do believe that Granlund one, Dvorak two, and they shifted to Boeser."
At the end of the day, the Canucks knew that it was going to be hard to get free-agents to sign here, and there is no way you can offer him more, they went as high as one could.
