The Vancouver Canucks are not happy after Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust laid a dangerous hit on Brock Boeser at the conclusion of Sunday night's game.

After dropping Friday night's game against the New Jersey Devils, the Vancouver Canucks welcomed another Metropolitan Division opponent to town - the Pittsburgh Penguins, who have been one of the biggest surprises in the National Hockey League this season.
Coming into the season, everyone expected the Penguins to be near the bottom of the NHL standings, in the race for the first overall pick and being sellers at the trade deadline, with rumors even including captain Sidney Crosby at one point, but the exact opposite has happened and now they're just six points back of Carolina for first in the division.
Pittsburgh was riding a three-game winning streak heading into Sunday's clash with Vancouver and they were able to make it a clean sweep on their road trip, defeating the Canucks by a score of 3-2 thanks to a pair of goals from Coquitlam, British Columbia native Ben Kindel.

With just seconds remaining on the clock, the Vancouver Canucks were pressing for an equalizer and came close, however a dangerous incident occurred when Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust with his elbow up, which caught Brock Boeser in the head.
"Bryan Rust get the elbow up on Brock Boeser late in the third." Canucks Army shared.
According to the league's box score, the officials on the ice gave Bryan Rust a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head and the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that the incident is reviewed by the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety, with Head Coach Adam Foote calling it "vicious".
"It was a headshot. It was shoulder and his head. I'm sure the league will look at it because it was, even though he may have been desperate to get Boes down because it was a scrum at the net, I still think it was something that you got to be in control of your body. I thought it was a little bit of a vicious, vicious hit to the head." Foote said.

There hasn't been any update from the Canucks on how Brock Boeser is doing and with a scheduled day off on Monday, we might not hear anything more until the morning skate on Tuesday ahead of their battle with the San Jose Sharks.
