Trade Request?: NHL Insider Provides Major Update on J.T. Miller Potentially Leaving the Vancouver Canucks
it is clear that the Vancouver Canucks are facing a major dilemma when it comes to the conflict between superstars J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has just provided a big update on the matter.
As one of the prime suspects in spreading the issues and trade rumors of both Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, Friedman has come out with a new report that updates fans on the state of the issues, and if a trade could be coming for one of them.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman Confirms the Canucks are open to trading one of the two stars
The new report highlights the lack of progression of putting these differences aside, and that there are currently not many options out of this if things do not change for the better.
Friedman confirmed that what he is hearing out of the Canucks organization is the team is actively open to listening for trades on either Miller or EP40.
"I believe everybody knows that Vancouver are open to listening. I believe they have already, on both players and will continue to do so. But I still think that Vancouver's preference is that both of them grow up and figure it out."
According to Friedman's sources, it seems the conflict is taking a major toll on the Canucks organization from the players all the way up to the front office.
The fact that it's still a thing (the feud) has begun to spill over into other parts of the organization. And, to me, it's clearly bothering (Coach Rick) Tocchet that this is still a thing. I believe it's bothering (captain, Quinn) Hughes that it's still a thing," Friedman said. "And now, it's spread to where everybody has to deal with it."
Maybe the most shocking out of all the reports is that he knows Miller has not asked for a trade, but believes that Miller would jump at the opportunity to land with a new team if management does the leg work.
Friedman thinks JT Miller hasn't asked for a trade but he thinks JT would consider things if it were presented to him. But management has to got to him.
Whatever the end result ends up being, the current situation that is causing outside distraction for the Canucks cannot continue, and with the trade deadline quickly approaching, the situation could be resolved sooner rather than later.
