The Vancouver Canucks have announced a roster move ahead of their road trip starting tomorrow, calling up a former Stanley Cup champion from Abbotsford (AHL).
It's been an injury-filled start to the season for the Vancouver Canucks, with
forward Conor Garland the latest to be sidelined after leaving Tuesday night's game against the New York Rangers and it doesn't look like he'll be travelling with the club as they begin their road trip in St. Louis tomorrow.
"Canucks GM Patrik Allvin tells me neither
Conor Garland nor
Quinn Hughes are travelling with the team. Canucks flying to St. Louis today.
Allvin still hopeful Hughes can join the team in either Minnesota or Nashville." Patrick Johnston of
The Province said on BlueSky."
Ahead of their flight to St. Louis today, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin made a roster move, bringing up a veteran forward with over 120 games of NHL experience up to the big club.

In a post on social media on Wednesday morning, the Vancouver Canucks announced that 2019 Stanley Cup champion Mackenzie MacEachern was being called up to the NHL, while Swedish forward
Nils Aman has been sent down to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Nils Åman has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL) and F Mackenzie MacEachern has been recalled from Abbotsford." the Canucks said.
MacEachern, 31,
signed a two-year, two-way contract worth worth the league minimum of $775,000 US annually with the Vancouver Canucks on the opening day of free agency in early July.
The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native was a third round pick of the St. Louis Blues in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and went on to suit up in 123 games with them, and the Carolina Hurricanes, where he's registered 20 points (11 goals, nine assists), 55 penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
So far this season, MacEachern has put up two goals, four penalty minutes and is a minus-nine in seven games in the American Hockey League with Abbotsford.
MacEachern hasn't played in the National Hockey League since the 2023-24 season, where he appeared in eight games with the St. Louis Blues, so there's a good chance he'll get into the lineup tomorrow night on the road against his former club.
